"Egypt. An amazing place. Unbelievable sights from civilizations from around 3500 BC to now, a life giving river, and unbelievable filth and poverty. It's a contrast that I knew existed but that the tourism brochures do well to hide. Seeing the Giza pyramids and the Sphinx and then the Mummy Room in the Egyptian museum on the first day is an experience that still hasn't truly sunk in, although being in the Cairo traffic for any length of time is an experience I'll never be able to forget. The crusie on the Nile was part eye opening and part horror. Peregrine Travel and their cruise boat should be ashamed of themselves for the level of cleanliness and problems we had, including the overnight weight loss program I enjoyed. Karnak Temple at Luxor was stunning, as was Mt. Sinai which was well worth getting up at 2am to climb. Overall, its an amazing place, with stunning sights but be aware that its quite dirty, in your face, and that if your taking the ferry to Jordan, the Nuweiba port is utterly disgusting. I'd still recommend Egypt, you'll never see anything like it, just do not use Peregrine."
