NEW: VENICE, ITALY: 9TH-11TH OCTOBER 2009
Ahhh Venice. Sorry do love an Indiana Jones reference, as long as it's not the fourth movie! Venice was gloomy on the first day, with terrential rain and booming thunder through the old streets. As per most italian trips though, we were cheered up by a good afternoon pizza with good wine, a very venice overpriced but fun gondola ride, and then a stunning amazingly reasonable 3 course meal. On Sunday, the sun came out as did the tourists and Venice revealed its true colours. A fabulous place to see, but it does seem to be owned by tourists and in quite a state of disrepair. Many houses and floors of buildings seem unoccupied. A stunning place, but its future is a worry. Shame.

PARIS, FRANCE: 28TH-31ST AUGUST 2009
Another weekend in Paris, thanks (or not) to Sony. Lots of walking around in the sun taking it easy and snapping a few photos here and there. All the standards included, but mostly we spent a very chilled weekend taking it easy and strolling around stopping for frequent coffees. Hopefully the last trip to Paris of the current era, but it's certainly a long way from being the worst place to have to be on a weekend.

THE HAGUE, NETHERLANDS: 8TH-9TH AUGUST 2009
Normally mentioning The Hague conjures up images legal tribunals and not much else, which as it turns out is quite unfair. This was a really pleasant place, nice beach area with bars and cool scultpures, good trams, nice old town centre, generally just a nice place to be rather than another weekend in London. Throw in Marina's hospitality and it was a really nice couple of days

BLACPKPOOL, ENGLAND: 25TH-27TH JULY 2009
No it wasn't a stag weekend (everyone kept asking!). Simon organised a boys trip to the classy north east destination of Blackpool and if that wasn't enough, we were going to be going to the Darts Championship final and in fancy dress, my favourite thing! On Saturday night Blackpool showed its true colours. Hen and Stag nights out in force and not a self respecting person to be seen, simply awesome. On the Sunday night we headed to the darts in our fancy dress which you can see below. Quite like me as the Joker, I think it was the hair. It was like being Jake or Simon for a night.

ORLANDO, FLORIDA: 23RD MAY-1ST JUNE 2009
Ten days of American cars, tacky theme parks, highways, Dunkum Donuts, rollercoasters and Walmart, what more could you want? Maybe some swamp (Boggy creek, great name), Manny's chophouse (awesome!), and thunderstorms to top it all off. It has been too long since i posted an update to the site, but Orlando still sticks in the mind as a great escape holiday. Universal Pictures, Disneyland, Islands of Adventure, Discovery Cove, Busch Gardens, thanks for the fun days out, and Walker's, thanks for the entertaining driving and more importantly the organisation!
